The combination of sweet and savory always creates a mouthwatering dish.

Label: Easy

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients image:

Cooked white fish fillet seasoned with pepper and two grilled lemon halves on a dark slate plate.

Ingredients:

_Ingredients_

  • 2 6-ounce Copper River Salmon fillets, patted dry with a paper towel (Product = copper-river-salmon)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1/2 red pepper flakes
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions:

1. Preheat

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

2. Add the goods

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low-medium heat. Add the honey, garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar lemon, and stir until the honey is melted and the mixture is slightly thickened.

3. Sprinkle

Place the salmon onto the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle it with salt and pepper.

4. Brush

Brush the salmon with the honey-garlic mixture.

5. Wait

Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast for 10 to 12 minutes, until cooked through and flaky.

6. Bonus Tips

This is a simple oven-roasted salmon recipe that can be kept in your back pocket to impress guests, or your own taste buds, any day of the week.

  1. This oven-baked salmon recipe works for any types of salmon. However, for the best taste (and to win everyone’s hearts), choose wild Alaskan salmon which has a richer and buttery texture.
  2. The honey can get pretty sticky, so be sure to line your baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy clean-up.
  3. The soy sauce adds a nice umami flavor to the salmon dressing. If you are gluten-free, simply use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  4. You can easily omit the red pepper flakes if you don’t like spice, or add more for an extra-spicy honey-baked salmon recipe.
  5. Be sure to season your salmon fillets with salt and pepper before adding the marinade. This seasoning will melt into the salmon flesh so every bite has maximum flavor.
  6. The vinegar or lemon juice adds brightness and acidity to the dish. You can substitute it with lime or orange juice, or another vinegar that you love.
  7. Serve honey garlic baked salmon with brown or white rice and your favorite green vegetable side dish for a well-rounded weeknight meal.
