It arrives frozen solid, or we replace it

Ships every Tuesday morning. Arrives in 1–2 days.

  1. A person in a red jacket on a rocky point at the water's edge, with boats on calm grey water under a cloudy sky

    Step 1

Caught by Kyle and his crew

Wild sockeye, pulled from Alaska's cold, pristine waters by our own boats. Never farmed.

  2. Vacuum-sealed fish portions with blue and white labels, piled in a cooler

    Step 2

Portioned off the dock, then sealed

Right off the dock, our small crew portions every fillet by hand. Then each one is vacuum-sealed.

  3. Hands holding a vacuum-sealed sockeye salmon pack over a wooden cutting board in a kitchen

    Step 3

    Flash-frozen to -40°F

Then each sealed fillet is flash-frozen to -40°F within hours of the catch. It is never thawed and refrozen.

  4. Vacuum-sealed fish portions packed side by side in an opened white insulated box

    Step 4

    Packed with dry ice

Packed around dry ice in an insulated box. Ships every Tuesday morning. Arrives in 1–2 days. Free, every order.

  5. A man carrying a white cooler up to a glass front door, seen from inside the house

    Step 5

    Delivered frozen to your door

It lands hard-frozen. Sear it, grill it, or slice it for sashimi. It's sushi-grade.

Questions

Questions before you order

Will it smell or taste fishy?

We can't promise how it will land for you, so here is what our sockeye buyers wrote: "There is no 'fishy' smell or taste" and "no strong fishy smell at all." If the ick has made fish hard to face, cook one fillet and see. If it's not for you, email crew@outerseas.co within 30 days and we will make it right.

Is a 6oz fillet too much?

Fillets are vacuum-sealed in 6oz portions, so you only thaw one at a time. Eat as much as you want. The rest keeps 1 year sealed in the freezer, so there is no rush to get through the box. Our fillets are 6oz nominal. Hand-cut portions vary.

How do I cook it on a low-energy day?

Put the sealed fillet in a bowl of cold water and it thaws in about 30 minutes, or move it to the fridge the night before. Then cook it in a hot pan with a little oil and salt until it flakes. That is the whole recipe.

Is this a subscription?

No. This page sells a one-time purchase: no subscription, no auto-ship. If you later want regular deliveries, Subscribe & Save takes 8% off, and it is optional. If you ever subscribe and want to stop, go to outerseas.co/apps/retextion/shop/subscriptions, scroll to the bottom and choose Cancel My Subscription.

Will it arrive frozen?

Yes. Every fillet is portioned right off the dock, vacuum-sealed, then flash-frozen to -40°F within hours of the catch. It is never thawed and refrozen on its way to you, and it ships frozen with dry ice. Boxes ship every Tuesday: order before 6am Eastern on Tuesday and it ships that day. If the box turns up soft, warm or split, tell us and we replace the order. You do not send anything back.

Is this a GLP-1 product?

No. It is wild salmon, not a medical product, and we make no medical claims about it. Ask your care team about your own protein target.
